You Shouldn't Have To Explain Who You Are To Get Help
Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, especially if you've had experiences where you felt dismissed, misunderstood, or like you had to explain parts of yourself just to be heard. You may be wondering if we will understand what you're going through, respect your identity, or take the time to truly listen.
At True Self Mental Health, care starts with getting to know you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms. Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, or other mental health concerns, you'll find a supportive space where your experiences are respected, your questions are welcomed, and decisions about your care are made together.
Safe To Be You
Thoughtful Care
Collaborative Decisions
Real Support
A Space Where You Can Exhale
When care begins with listening, it's easier to focus on what you need instead of proving who you are.

Personalized Support For Your Mental Health
Whether you're seeking answers, exploring treatment options, or looking for ongoing support, care is personalized to your goals, experiences, and concerns. Together, we'll create a plan that helps you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
Your first appointment is a chance to talk about what's been going on and what brought you here. We'll discuss your history, current concerns, what has or hasn't helped in the past, and what you're hoping will feel different moving forward. This is a space to ask questions, share your experiences, and begin building a plan that feels right for you.
Medication can feel like a big decision, especially if you've had difficult experiences with providers in the past. We'll talk through your options, discuss potential benefits and side effects, and make decisions together. The goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you find support that fits your life and your goals.
You shouldn't have to explain, defend, or filter parts of yourself to receive mental health care. Your identity, experiences, and goals are respected here. Care begins with listening, understanding your story, and creating a space where you can focus on your mental health without wondering if you'll be understood.
When you're carrying constant worry, feeling stuck, or struggling to get through the day the way you want to, it's easy to feel exhausted. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We'll work together to better understand what you're experiencing and explore what support may help.
When focus, organization, or follow-through feel harder than they should, it can affect work, school, relationships, and everyday life. Whether these challenges are new or something you've been managing for years, we'll take the time to understand your experiences and identify options that work for you.
Mental health concerns look different at different stages of life. Care is tailored to the unique needs of each person, with a collaborative approach that may include parents, caregivers, therapists, primary care providers, or other members of your support system when appropriate.

About True Self Mental Health
True Self Mental Health was founded by Hallick, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with a simple goal: to create a place where people feel comfortable being themselves while receiving thoughtful, high-quality psychiatric care.
Hallick provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, teens, and adults throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he is passionate about increasing access to affirming mental health care and helping people find support that feels respectful, inclusive, and personalized to their needs.
At True Self Mental Health, care is built on collaboration, trust, and open communication. Hallick takes the time to understand each person's unique experiences, answer questions honestly, and work together to create a treatment plan that aligns with their goals. The focus is not on fitting people into a predetermined approach, but on helping them find support that allows them to live more fully as their true selves.
